Globe Telecom on Monday said it expanded the coverage of its unlimited data roaming service to cover prepaid subscribers. Globe Platinum and Roaming Business vice president Coco Domingo said the prepaid subscribers can avail of the unlimited data roaming service starting May 1. With Globe Prepaid Roam Surf, prepaid customers could access the internet abroad for an entire 24-hour cycle for Philippine pesos 599 (approximately €12).

The countries covered by the unlimited data roaming service for prepaid subscribers are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Fiji, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, Nauru, Netherlands, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAW, Uganda, United Kingdom, and the US.

Domingo said Globe is looking to expand the list to cover other countries covered by the unlimited data roaming service for postpaid subscribers by the third quarter of 2015. In June 2014, Globe launched the flat rate for unlimited data roaming service of P599 per day (approximately €12) to its postpaid customers.

Globe Telecom, commonly shortened as Globe, is a major provider of telecommunications services in the Philippines. As of December 2013, Globe Telecom has a total of 14,952 base stations and 9,012 cell sites nationwide to support its 2G, 3G, 4G HSPA+, LTE and WiMAX services. As of end-June 2014, total prepaid customers stood at 40.6 million while postpaid customers stood at 2.1 million.
