Mobile phone roaming charges for long distance calls are likely to be cancelled among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
Mobile phone roaming charges for long distance calls are likely to be cancelled among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei in a bid to promote regional integration.
The three regions are likely to take the lead in cancelling mobile phone roaming charges for long distance calls starting from August 1, 2015, according to the top three Chinese telecommunication operators.
The cancellation of the roaming charge is only confined to voice calls excluding landlines and data services among the three areas.
Roaming charges will continue as usual if you are not in the three regions. Market experts claim that the benefit is not likely to be covered outside the three regions such as Shanghai in the short term as its estimated that should data roaming be cancelled nationwide, each telecommunication company could lose up to ten billion yuan.
