London 17/11/2015. We are pleased to announce a new Research Project for Operators. This survey is about Data Clearing and DCH Vendors and their performance and leadership and follows our Financial Clearing Research which is still open today. The survey will run for 11 weeks from today. It is our 3rd annual survey on Data Clearing Vendors.
Whether it’s machine or human traffic, Data Clearing remains one of the most important aspects of the wholesale and retail roaming processes today. When thinking about Data Clearing we chose to use a picture of a stethoscope in our research marketing, why? Because we think that more than ever the TAP file is not just a mechanism for understanding billing but is one of the most competent ways of understanding the heart of the business, the customer, its behaviour and most of all the communication trends in the market. In a recent study we found that some operators claim that as much as 80-90% of their Roaming subscribers were “silent”. This is not an average but it explains the extremity of the situation with the customer experience and how data about customers patterns of usage help us to fine tune propositions and eliminate bill shock scenarios.
Maybe one day when VoLTE becomes a standard across Operators there will be a possiblity for Operators to extract all Roaming billing data from their own network, but its not today.
So we invite you to help us understand the nature of Data Clearing today and the Vendors who perform it for the 3rd year. With the results of the last two years in mind, there’s no saying which Vendors have performed according to Operators expectations.

About the Research
ROCCO remains a company devoted to neutrality. Our Vendor Performance Research is never sponsored, since we like to ask the questions Operators want and give the true position in the market in our reports. The survey is open for a short time only. Unlike previous years, we will present the results in tiers, as we have with our recent A2P SMS Messaging and IPX Networks Reports. This means than multiple Vendors may be announced within tier one (Overall score between 4-5 points out of 5) and Vendors who score lower than this will be announced as Tier 2 or Tier 3.
