WHERE CAN I ROAM? INTERNATIONAL ROAMING COVERAGE – WHERE TO FIND DETAILS OF WHAT OPERATORS COVER WHAT COUNTRIES
Before you set off on your trip, you should make sure you consider if you want to actually use your phone abroad.
There are several things you need to check beforehand:
However, even if you have checked everything and you are 100% sure that your mobile phone is ready to roam abroad, you still need to check one last thing: is the place you are going to covered? In fact, connection is subject to coverage.
If you are travelling to a city, you are likely to find an excellent coverage so this won’t be an issue at all. However, if you are travelling to a remote site, you may not find any coverage.
If you want to be informed in advance whether the place you are going to visit has coverage or not, there are few things you may do.
First, you could get in touch with your home operator’s customer care and ask them if they have this information. If they don’t, you may ask them what roaming partners do they have in the country you are going to visit.
Once you know what roaming partners they are connected with, you could visit their websites to check if they have a coverage map published somewhere, or you could get in touch either via email or via phone with their customer care to check what their coverage is.
Otherwise, you could also do the other way round: you visit the following website http://maps.mobileworldlive.com/index.php and you select the country you are interested in.
Then, you check the coverage maps of the operators that operate in that country, and once you find out which operator covers the place you are interested in, you can get in touch with your Home operator and ask them if they have any roaming agreement live with the visited operator that covers the sites you are interested in.
